eCite™ leads to $2 Million Meth Seizure

Polk County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives were on patrol in Frostproof, FL and utilizing the QuickTag™ feature of eCite™ to run license plates in the area. QuickTag™ identified the registered owner of a Jeep Cherokee, Scott Eargood, as having a suspended license.

The detectives conducted a traffic stop and subsequently located a half pound of methamphetamine and $3,400 in cash during a search of the vehicle. Eargood, 21, and the passenger, Santos Zamora-Escobar, 27 were arrested.

The detectives then developed further information about a residence being rented by Eargood and Zamora-Escobar. Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence and located an additional 110 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $2.2 million.

Eargood and Zamora-Escobar both face numerous charges, including distribution of methamphetamine.
